Research Assistant Professorship/
Post-doctoral Fellowship in Digital Evidence
(Ref.: RF-2007/2008-190)

Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral
Fellowship (PDF)/Research Assistant Professor (RAP) in
Digital Evidence in the Faculty of Law. Appointment will
be made for a period of 3 years, with the possibility of
renewal. The appointee will primarily work with the China
IT and Law Centre under the Faculty of Law and the
Department of Computer Science.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should have research experience in one or
preferably more of the following fields of specialization:
- basic and/or applied research in computer forensics,
- digital evidence research and processing,
- criminal law and procedure,
- law and information technology knowledge, and
- understanding of cyber crimes.
A doctoral degree in Law and/or Computer Science or a
cognate discipline, plus a proven record of scholarly
publications related to the above fields, is highly
desirable. The appointee should have the ability and
willingness to conduct extensive and extended research
independently, and must be competent in the application of
legal and computing skills in digital evidence research.
The appointee is expected to conduct research on digital
evidence, and to be successful in securing external
research grants.

SALARY/BENEFITS:

Annual salaries will be in the following ranges (subject to
review from time to time at the entire discretion of the
University):


Research Assistant Professor: HK$511,680 - 622,740
Post-doctoral Fellow: HK$250,260 - 482,400
(approximately US$1 = HK$7.8)

For the post of RAP, appointment will attract a contract-
end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement
benefits scheme, totalling up to 15 percent of basic
salary. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 16
percent of gross income. The appointment carries leave, and
medical/dental benefits.
