The Chair for Software Engineering at the University of Konstanz

The Chair for Software Engineering at the University of Konstanz hasan immediately available opening for a full-time Research Assistant /Post-Doctoral Fellow position.

The Chair for Software Engineering offers an attractive, internationaland ethnically diverse working environment. English is a workinglanguage within the Chair. The Chair possesses comfortable funding toallow members to present and establish their research results ininternational scientific conferences and to participate in summerschools, seminars and other scientific events.

Research at the Chair for Software Engineering is focussed atdeveloping automated tools and methods for the analysis andconstruction of complex software systems. The Chair is a member of theDFG funded PhD program "Explorative Analysis and Visualization ofLarge Information Spaces", an associate member of the DFG fundedcollaborative research center "AVACS", and holds a number ofindividual research grants. We also collaborate with local softwareindustry.
Candidates are expected to have an interest in pursuing research inthe use of formal analysis techniques for complex softwaresystems. Applicants are required to possess an outstanding PhD degreein Computer Science or a very closely related discipline, as well asan initial record of peer-reviewed archival publications. There is apossibility to work towards a German Habilitation degree. Fluency inspeech and writing in English is required. Basic competency in German,or a willingness to acquire this, is advisable. The positions areinitially available for a term of up to 2 years. The salary will beaccording to the German public service payscale TVL.
Konstanz is located in the highly attractive Lake Constance (Bodensee)area at the southern rim of Germany. Lake Constance offers splendidrecreational opportunities, and the Black Forest as well as the Swissand Austrian Alps are within easy reach. The closest city with aninternational airport is Zurich (Switzerland), reachable in about 60minutes by train.
